TEACHING TOOLS
Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/27-9.1(c)(9) was recently amended, now requiring all comprehensive health education classes to include instruction on the Safe Haven act. The below tools are provided for your use to meet this new mandate and be in compliance with the law. Adobe's Acrobat Reader is needed to view and print these files. Created for specific use in the Illinois classroom, our Teacher's Kit includes specifics of the law, sample core lesson plans, extension opportunities, scenarios for discussion purposes, and ways your students can help promote awareness of the law.
