Resources For Media
The Save Abandoned Babies Foundation works to promote the Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act (325 ILCS 2). We are happy to assist the media in any way we can. With advanced notice, we can typically locate individuals willing to be interviewed for television, radio and print stories.
Part of the success of the Safe Haven law over the past twenty years, has been the reporting of news, both when newborns are safely relinquished under the law and when they are unsafely abandoned. With this law, no parent needs to unsafely abandon their child if they are aware of this simple law.
If you are interested in airing our PSA or doing a story on Safe Haven baby, please contact Dawn Geras at 312-440-0229 and be sure to indicate your deadline.
Free Materials, Posters and Brochures
We also encourage you to order our free materials which can be used to display information about the law in your school. Our posters (Don’t Panic, Help is Here and No Shame. No Blame. No Names.) are a great way to visually remind students of their options. Additionally, the No Shame. No Blame. No Names. pamphlet is an important resource to have visible in the school nurse or social worker’s office. We recommend placing the brochure in a location where a student can access it without having to ask for the information. Please click here for our order form to order any of these materials free of charge.
